England handed tough draw

The draw for the upcoming Rugby Sevens tournament to be held in Dubai has been completed and England has been handed an extremely difficult group.

The England team has won the last two editions of the Dubai tournament and they take the tournament extremely seriously and would be looking for a hat trick of titles in the desert but if they are to emulate the success of the previous editions, they will have to pull up their socks and go all out having been dumped into the same group as South Africa as well as Samoa in Pool C for the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens, scheduled to be held next month.

The England team failed to even make it to the quarter final stages of the Gold Coast Sevens that was held in Australia just last weekend and Ben Ryan’s boys will need to step up their game, bearing in mind that they will have a lot to prove against the likes of these powerhouses Sevens rugby.

Ryan and his team was looking at the Dubai tournament to kick start their season but that has been extremely difficult after they landed in such a difficult group. However, The Red Rose has a lot of affinity for the event in the city and having won their previous two editions, Ryan will be hoping that Matt Turner and his boys will be able to steam roll the Samoans and The Springboks and lead the team into yet more glory.

In the other Pools for the Rugby Sevens event, Kenya, Spain and Scotland make up Pool A along with Gold Coast Sevens winners Fiji while New Zealand find themselves in the midst of Wales, Argentina and Russia in Pool B, which is another tough group for the runners up of the Gold Coast Sevens.
